


GETTING THERE
AIRPORT
Prague Ruzyne Airport
The airport is located 20 Km Northwest of Prague, towards Kladno or Slan. It consists of 3 Terminals with free transfer by bus. Car short and long-term parking are situated near Terminals 1 and 2.
For car rental facilities, Alimex CR, Avis, Budget, CS-Czechocar, Dvorak, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt are all represented.
Bus 100 runs from the airport to Zlicin metro station, 15 minutes from the airport. Bus 119 and bus 254 run from the airport to Dejvická metro station, which is located 20 minutes from the airport. Two night bus services operate after hours. Services are operated by DP Praha (telephone: (02) 9619 1817), which has an information desk in the Arrivals hall.

BY ROAD
Czech motorways are limited but useful: international roads are marked with "E" and all these routes have a speed limit of 130 Kmh. The most important routes to Prague are the D1/D2 to Brno. From Belgium, take the E40 to Cologne, then the E31 to Heidelberg and the E50, crossing the German/Czech border at Waidhaus/Rozvadov. From Vienna, the E59 leads to the D1 motorway, the E55 from Dresden and Berlin, the E67 from Wroclaw and Warsaw and the E50 from Paris.

ATTRACTIONS
Charles Bridge
It is a pedestrian bridge which represents an icon of the city. It dates back to the 14th century and until 1841 it was the only bridge in Prague. Every day a crowd of buskers, musicians and various artists makes the happiness of the multitude of tourists getting there.
Old Town Square
Staromestské Namesti represents the heart of the ancient Prague, lined by beautiful historical façades. Its cobbled surface houses a famous and traditional market, particularly appreciated in Christmas time.
In the center of this pretty square there is the statue of Jan Hus, the religious reformer who is a national Czech symbol. From the top of the Old Town Hall, with its suggestive Gothic clock, people can admire a stunning view of the city.
Prague Astronomical Clock
It is a Gothic clock, called Prague Orloj, on the southern wall of the Old Town City Hall. It is very popular among tourists.

Church of Our Lady before Tyn

It is an example of Gothic architecture, which stands in the heart of Stare Mesto. After 1689 it underwent a Baroque reconstruction. Inside the church was buried the famous astronomer Tycho Brahe. There is a wonderful baptismal font.

The Jewish Museum

It is considered the most important among European museums on this argument.

It is located in the old Jewish District and the different exhibitions are housed in different buildings and synagogues. The museum contains works and objects brought by Nazis from 153 Jewish communities. The Old Jewish Cemetery has 12000 tombstones, the oldest of which datin back to 1439.

SHOPPING

Prague has a plenty of boutiques and shops, particularly in Parizska Street, in the northern part of the Old Town. The most important shopping area is the one from Wenceslas Square to Republic Square.

There is a permanent market in the Old Town Square where buying traditional crafts and Czech souvenirs, like cristal ware and accessories, puppets and woodden toys.

Some shopping malls started to appear in recent years, including Palladium (in the city centre), Metropole Zlièin and OC Novy Smichov.

Prague is characterized by a vibrant nightlife. The most popular nighclubs are concentrated in the heart of Old Town (Karlovy Lazne, Vertigo, Roxy, N 11, Dublex).
